TESTIMONIALS

"

I spent two years at Carmel Higher Secondary school and count them as the most special time of my life. My achievements during this time are a testament to the brilliant teaching, the superb extra-curricular activities, and the attention to character building that is the hallmark of this excellent institution.

What makes a good school is not a physical structure but the people and I was blessed to have good colleges, great teachers, management and support staff. I think I really received an education at Carmel which went beyond the text book. My time at Carmel Higher Secondary School was one of personal growth and learning. There were ups and downs but my experiences here have made me what I am today.

You can always spot a Carmelite in a crowd.

My years at Carmel made me realize that the school has an almost magical way of encouraging students to be fearless, curious, to be enthusiastic and in short, to just be themselves. We, as students could think out of the box, not fearing others would judge us. Our confidence was nurtured not only by the teaching staff but also by the non-teaching staff. It was as if they were oblivious to the words ‘IMPOSSIBLE’, ‘NO’, ‘UNATTAINABLE’. I would like to believe that Carmel taught me and thousands of girls that lesson that “when someone does you a big favour, don’t pay it back …….. pay it forward.

The last months of my standard twelfth were the toughest with the usual pressure of Board exams. I remember how overwhelmed and exhausted, I felt at times. However, what made all of that easy was the way the teachers helped me prepare, teaching me a thing or two about the subjects, but most importantly teaching me how to be calm, organised and focussed. They taught me to believe in myself. When the results were out, it was a very gratifying moment. It was truly a moment when I felt I could pay back my respects to Carmel Higher Secondary for I had secured the 2nd rank in the state of Goa.

The lovely ambience, the approachable and experienced Principal, teachers and the friendly and helpful non-teaching staff made Carmel very home like. Besides attending lectures and answering exams, we had a number of co-curricular activities to look forward to. It was this exposure to various events that broadened my mind and made me dream of something bigger. My years at Carmel and my later education taught me to see God’s love in the eyes of my students and also that Fair isn’t everybody getting the same thing….. Fair is everybody getting what they need to be successful”.
